Unity" is a song recorded by Afrika Bambaataa and James Brown as a duet in 1984. It was the first recording in which Brown collaborated with a performer associated with hip hop, a then-new idiom heavily influenced by Brown's own funk music. The record's title and its cover showing the two performers clasping hands express solidarity between the two styles.

Roach-styled, restful sonic influence is again heard but a Harold Budd feel pervades. I sensed that same aural space of Abandoned Cities and Serpent in Quicksilver here.

JAMES P JOHNSON is a stride piano music artist. James Price Johnson (February 1, 1894–November 17, 1955) was an African-American pianist and composer. With Luckey Roberts, Johnson was one of the originators of the stride style of piano playing. Johnson was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

NotesThe first recording released on the Zero Music label. This work was originally released in 1998. It has been re-mastered from the original .wav files and made available in 256kbps MP3 format. The subtle nuances have been restored without effecting the primitiveness of the original recordings. The entire work was created on a AWE32 sampling sound card with 16mb of ram, running on an original Pentium 200MMX with 32mb of ram. A very minimal and drifting beatless work.
