On the original LPs Mosaïques was coupled with Hovhaness' Triptych and Straight's Development for orchestra on CRI 221, Landscapes came on CRI 192 with works by Haufrecht and Mourant and the Symphony and Serenade made up CRI S-261, which also had the Nocturne from the Fantasies for orchestra. Karel Husa was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1921 and received his initial music training in his home country.

They ceased publishing Hovhaness in 1972 (except for 1982's Symphony N. 0). Opus numbers often conflict wildly with actual chronology since many works were published years after their composition. AMP (now part of G Schirmer) published Hovhaness from 1950 to 1955. Their catalogue includes several early masterpieces, including Prelude And Quadruple Fugue, Concerto N. for Orchestra and Symphony N. (Mysterious Mountain).
