Graffman, Szell, Cleveland Orchestra, Tchaikovsky - Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No.1 download flac
Composer: Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev (23 April 1891 - 5 March 1953) - Orchestra: Cleveland Orchestra - Conductor: George Szell - Soloist: Gary Graffman.
Concerto No. 1 For Piano & Orchestra In B-Flat Minor, OP. 23: I - Allegro non troppo e molto maestoso. 2. Concerto No. 23: II - Andante simplice. 3. 23: III - Allegro con fuoco; Allegro vivo. When I received the album I realized there was a mistake in my selection and quite dissappointed I opened up the carton, pulled the CD out of the jewel box and inserted it in my CD Player. To my surprise, I began to listen one of the most impressive performances I've heard of the first piano concerto. I personally own some jewels, including Van Cliburns' evergreen with the RCA Symphony and the exquisite performance of Vladimir Ashkenazy with Lorin Maazel as a conductor. Two legends of the piano with impecable works over the same composition.

The Cleveland Orchestra's first recording, of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, was made for the Brunswick label with its first music director, Nikolai Sokoloff. The Cleveland Orchestra began a long-running association with the Columbia Masterworks label under conductor Artur Rodziński. Successors Erich Leinsdorf, George Szell, and Lorin Maazel all recorded for Columbia, with some early Szell records being assigned to Columbia's budget sub-label, Epic. Szell's recordings with Cleveland in particular have remained steadily in print
