Spicks and Specks is the second studio album by the Bee Gees. It was released in November 1966, on Spin. Primarily written by Barry Gibb, the album features the first Robin Gibb composition "I Don't Know Why I Bother With Myself" and a Maurice Gibb composition "Where Are You"

Best of Bee Gees, Vol. 1 Audio CD. Bee Gees. 14. Let There Be Love. 15. Kitty Can The first album contains all versions of the Bee Gees first international hit, "New York Mining Disaster 1941" as well as alternates of key album cuts. There is also plenty of extra material such as the sixties rocking "Gilbert Green" and the vaudeville-like "Mr. Wallor's Wailing Wall" with Robin going at it with warbling intensity. The three Christmas songs are rare and unusual additions, especially for a box set such as this. The "Idea" second album contains some alternate songs, along with rare B-Sides, such as "The Singer Sang his Song" (originally optioned for an A-Side release) and the rare A-Side, "Jumbo".

The Bee Gees Gold, Vol. 1 compiles the group's biggest singles from their first five years of hit records, beginning with 1967's "New York Mining Disaster 1941" and ending with 1971's "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart

These are the only recordings the Bee Gees themselves have no creative control over, and Festival has used this to great advantage, licensing the rights to these songs throughout the world. Polydor had a brief license to distribute these in the three-volume "Rare, Precious and Beautiful" series back in the late 60's. Some Australian demos, such as "Top Hat" and "I'll Know What To Do", are truly rare. Other recordings, especially singles such as "Claustrophobia" and "Spicks and Specks", seem to be on every record rack in town

Best of Bee Gees is a 1969 compilation album by Bee Gees. It was their first international greatest hits album. It featured their singles from 1966-1969 with the exception of the band's 1968 single "Jumbo". Every Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You" was the only track in this album which was not released as a single. The following songs in this compilation from 1966-1969 was very popular worldwide and was picked up by many casual fans who owned no other Bee Gees album. It includes the US singles "Holiday" and "I Started a Joke"

Stigwood proclaimed that the Bee Gees were "The Most Significant New Talent Of 1967" and thus began the immediate comparison to The Beatles. Their second British single (their first UK 45 rpm issued was "Spicks and Specks"), "New York Mining Disaster 1941", was issued to radio stations with a blank white label listing only the song title. Another single, "Holiday" was released in the United States, peaking at The parent album, the erroneously titled Bee Gees 1st, peaked at in the United States and in the United Kingdom. Following the success of Bee Gees 1st, the band (which now consisted of Barry on rhythm guitar, Maurice on bass, Vince Melouney on lead guitar and Colin Petersen on drums), began work on the act's second album.
