Technology (CD, Maxi). referencing Technology, 12", NUT018. Neutron summarises everything I loved about this era, it never seems to get the recognition i think it deserves. I was introduced to the torque album whilst living in Germany in the 90s and watching the now infamous live mix on viva I watched over and over, the visuals that accompanied neutron are perfect, long dark endless space footage that sits so well with the track itself

Ed Rush is the stage name used by the drum and bass musician, producer and DJ, Ben Settle (born 1973). Rush has been releasing records since 1992 and primarily with his musical partner Optical (Matt Quinn), since 1997. Along with Optical he is also the co-founder of the record label Virus Recordings which releases his records along with other drum and bass acts. He is most associated with the aggressive styles of drum and bass music known as techstep, darkcore and neurofunk.
Released at the height of the label's popularity, No U-Turn's artist compilation Torque is a pummeling, rock-solid introduction to the force that brought darkcore jungle to a new level of menace in 1996. Home to Ed Rush, Nico, DJ Trace, and newcomer Fierce, No U-Turn's (as well as NUT sublabel Nu Black's) steady output - all muddy, hissing electronics; unruly, superdense, overlapping basslines; and splintering, driving breaks - arguably dominated the jungle scene in the latter half of 1996, spawning hordes of imitators.
