It was first published in 1927 including poems such as "King John's Christmas", "Binker" and "Pinkle Purr". Eleven of the poems in the collection are accompanied by illustrations featuring Winnie-the-Pooh

This was the first Steeleye Span album that many Americans heard and it's a pretty good place to start - in fact, it might've been the group's very best album, if not for the presence of drivel such as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "To Know Him Is to Love Him" (the latter featuring David Bowie on sax).

Now We Are Six is a music studio album recording by STEELEYE SPAN (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1974 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Firm power chords and sweeping acoustic strums break open Steeleye Span's sixth offering, and 'Thomas the Rhymer' wears an ideal balance of classic rock simplicity, seafaring folk, and pop appeal. Now We Are Six' was not, as some insist, Steeleye's most 'prog' album to the extent that they had already shown greater progressions on previous LPs.

Now We Are Six (2009 Remaster). Now We Are Six" strikes me as undeveloped with a simplistic children's choir, or something resembling as much. It's a weak point for sure, but believe it or not the final two songs on the album are weaker. We'll get to them later. Thomas the Rhymer" has a nice heavy guitar riff in the beginning. Two versions of "Thomas the Rhymer" were recorded. The song, also known as "True Thomas", was released as a single running 3:14, and as a longer LP version running 6:44. This version, which alternates loud and soft sections, was released on the original version of the Chrysalis UK LP Now We Are Six. When the album was issued in the United States, however, it included the short version, apparently on the assumption that the shorter version would be more radio-friendly and more appealing to American audiences.
